Armand McCoy is a faculty member in the Strategic Communication area of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Additionally, he serves as Executive Director/Faculty Advisor to Lindsey + Asp, Gaylord College’s award-winning, professionally led, student-run strategic communications agency focused on solving youth culture problems for brands.
Armand joins Gaylord and OU with nearly 15 years of advertising and strategic communications experience. He comes to OU from Trifecta Communications, an award-winning creative agency with offices in Oklahoma City. While there, he led a multi-disciplinary, multi-generational team of creatives, designers, strategists, and technologists. During his career, he has additionally served in the positions of Account Supervisor, Director of Business Development, Director of Creative Services, and President/COO.
Industry highlights include leading creative teams on field productions across the US, in Europe, South Asia, and West Africa, developing communications deliverables for divisions of the United Nations Foundation for use in high-level coalition-building meetings during the United Nations General Assembly, and assisting the City of Moore, Oklahoma with crisis communications helping to lead their Joint Information Center in the days following a deadly EF-5 tornado, and coordinating a cabinet-level and presidential visit with the White House Advanced Team and US Secret Service.
Industry interests include marketing and communications and its utilization in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, augmented and virtual reality use to deepen customer experience and the impact of Generation Z on strategic communications.
