September’s Luncheon A Success

The first luncheon of the season, and our first as American Advertising Federation Black Hills, was a tremendous success.  Straightforward Media was the sponsor of the event, and Josh Barsch of Straightforward Media was the keynote speaker.  Josh’s presentation on the advertising power of Google was very revealing.  The audience learned what a huge market share Google has in the online advertising
world, what new ideas Google has in store to reach an even bigger market, and learned about innovations the company is making in mobile
communications and email.  Thanks for a great presentation Josh.

The theme for the 2010 Addy Awards was also revealed.  This year’s event is titled Night Of The Golden Addy and will feature an Imperial
Oriental theme.  Everyone involved with the event is extremely excited about our first Addy Awards.  We’re looking forward to all the new
things we have to offer as American Advertising Federation Black Hills, and the September luncheon was a great start to the season.  We look
forward to seeing you at the October luncheon which will be held October 20th at the Hampton Inn.  The keynote speaker will be Hugh Weber with Deep Bench.

The topic was current and the speaker did a nice job of helping the rest of us who might not deal with google adsense on a daily basis, make sense of it.

I loved Josh’s presentation the last time he did it. I felt he had more time last time he presented, and kind of had to gloss over stuff this time.Looking forward to the shirt sleeve presentations.

The topic covered an area that I knew very little about and was a great introduction into it. The food was excellent.

There were many things I thought were good about the program: Josh ‘really knew his stuff’ and presented it in a smooth-flowing, interesting, sometimes comical format. He kept it moving right along and left a person yearning for more. Now THAT’S the mark of an excellent presenter!
